Art can be presented or symbolised through various mediums that could be either in the form of paintings, sculptures, or through photography. Almost everyone has a camera in their cell phone, and photos are taken all day, every day. We are constantly seeing photographic images on our electronic devices, in print media, and advertising. 

Since photography has become so widespread and diverse, it’s hard to narrow down precisely what photography is and whether it is still a form of art. Therefore, according to this article ,we are going to study the medium where, photography is also termed to be an art.

WHAT IS PHOTOGRAPHY ?

Photography are those presentations, which always in itself have a story to tell just , like every artistic presentation have in themselves. The word photography was derived from the Greek roots.

It can capture a moment in time, it can document the whole period at an instance .It inspires creativity and passion among the people to capture those moments. 

It is an art, application  and practice of creating images by recording light, either electronically by means of an image sensor, or chemically  by means of a light- sensitive material such as photographic film. 

IS PHOTOGRAPHY  AN ART ?

Photography is an art , but all the genres of photography cannot be termed as an art, as it can be concluded that art can be photography but all the photography is not an art. In present days artistic photographic presentations and artworks are presented either in the museums or art galleries.

Photographers like Ansel Adams, Herve lewis , Dorothea Lang, SN, Man Ray, Jonas Leriche, Irving Penn, and many others are renowned and recognized artists. 

As photography is termed as an visual art or presentation , so it is mostly divided broadly into two categories that are Fine art or Commercial art .

WHAT IS FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY?

Fine art photography helps in capturing the vision of an artist in a photogenic form , where each picture have its own meaning and importance. The presentation of the artist through the picture is somewhat subjective rather than objective of whatever has been captured by the lenses by the artist themselves. 

A fine art photograph differs from something like a piece of photojournalism or a selfie by depicting something beyond our plain reality.

 Whereas other forms of photography document real life, this type of photography creates something new. 

Therefore , we can conclude that any form of photography can be categorised as an fine art just the artist has to be particular about the Given thought and intention behind the creative choices that helps ultimately in capturing a stunning photograph.

WHAT IS COMMERCIAL ART PHOTOGRAPHY ?

Commercial art photography is an art which is used by the artists or the photographers and sometimes even by the different brands in their advertisements and marketing strategies in order to highlight their product or to display them in public where the main idea of the seller or brand is to sell the product in the market. 

These photographs help to bring in more customers base in the market or in that particular industry. 

Commercial photography can include representative photography such as magazine photography, documentary photography, or news photography.
